Position Summary :
The Recruiter / Senior Admission Counselor provides a high level of personalized service to prospective students who wish to explore, apply to and enroll at Creighton University through the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions.
This position is responsible for building the relationships necessary to recruit, admit, and enroll new students, assisting the future student up to the point they are ready for enrollment in courses.
This person will regularly review transcripts, complete unofficial prerequisites evaluations, and assist in identifying courses for prerequisite completion.
They will represent the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions at local, regional, and national events to increase visibility, target enrollment and community partnerships.
This position will develop and execute ongoing correspondence with prospective students including, but not limited to, phone contacts, email, letters, texting, and social media.
In collaboration with the Events Management Specialist, the Recruiter / Senior Admission Counselor will coordinate and execute admission interviews.
The role will also be responsible for hosting on campus visitors, creating and hosting virtual events, and other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions :
Recruit students for all programs and pathways in the School. Understand and be able to articulate the criteria for application into the different programs within the School.
Participate in campus visit days, assist with virtual events, and meet with prospective students, both on campus and locations outside of campus.
- Serves as representative at internal and external events.Participate in outreach activities which may include outside the local area.
- Corresponds with students.Initiates follow up with prospective students and applicants via phone, e-mail, texting, social media, and written communications.
Work with applicants regarding completing their files.Works directly with SPAHP Admissions regarding students enrolling at Creighton.
Coordinate and execute admission interview days. Collaborate with program faculty, student ambassadors and the Events Management Specialist to plan and execute virtual and in-person interview days.
Education & Experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred or currently working towards a master’s degree.
- 1-3 years’ experience in admissions, recruitment, advising or counseling
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Willingness to travel / drive and work on weekends and nights as needed
- Ability of communicate well with prospective students
- Effective presentation skills
- Knowledge of admission terminology, policy and tests
- Knowledge of transfer credit policies and procedures
- Interpersonal / human relations skills
- Planning and organizational skills
- Ability to efficiently and effectively review transcripts and complete unofficial transcript evaluations
- Ability to present pertinent information on Creighton University and the School selection process to both large and small groups.
Ability to learn and apply institutional policies and procedures
