Job Summary :
A Level 2 Registered Nurse is needed for a Medical-Surgical unit, working 12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 00 PM. The role involves developing and implementing patient care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team. Experience with trachs and vents is required, and the nurse may be required to float to other Med-Surg units.

Responsibilities :
- Develop patient care plans based on interviews, health records, and identified needs.
- Initiate emergency measures when a physician is not immediately available.
- Administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
- Plan and document patient and family teaching on preventative, curative, and rehabilitative measures.
- Record observations, nursing interventions, and therapeutic measures.
- Evaluate patient progress and update care plans accordingly.
- Document specific healthcare requirements and prepare assignments for team members.
- Oversee patient care administered by LPNs and unlicensed personnel.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to other nursing staff.
- Maintain adequate supplies and equipment and ensure a safe environment.
- Maintain current nursing knowledge and promote professional growth.
- Adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards of nursing.
- Maintain positive work habits and interpersonal skills.
- Answer unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Perform data entry into electronic medical database systems. Documents patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Perform selected patient registration activities.
- Coordinates equipment / supply needs. Notifies appropriate department of equipment malfunction.
- Performs any other related duties (e.g., clerical, technical duties) as assigned.
