The Hubert Department of Global Health, Emory University Rollins School of Public Health, announces a search for tenure-track faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in any discipline or area of global health.

We seek candidates who will complement and extend well-established areas within the Department. Individuals with interests in development policy, health economics, implementation science or other emerging areas of Global Health, are encouraged to apply.

Candidates at the Associate Professor rank should have an established record of scholarship, extramural funding as a principal investigator, and evidence of excellence in teaching.

Candidates at the Assistant Professor rank must demonstrate potential to become independent investigators and graduate-level teachers.

Demonstrated experience in team-based research is valued. All faculty are expected to contribute to excellence in the department by furthering its mission of scholarship, teaching, and service.

The Hubert Department of Global Health consists of 50 primary, full-time faculty members, 46 jointly appointed and over 100 adjunct faculty members, many of whom are affiliated with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), located in Atlanta, directly adjacent to the Rollins School of Public Health.

Faculty members have an outstanding portfolio of research in HIV / AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, women’s and girls’ empowerment, vaccine-preventable diseases, emerging infectious diseases, safe water and sanitation, nutrition, maternal and-child health, and diabetes and non-communicable diseases.

Last year, department faculty obtained $22.7m in external research funding. The Department offers PhD programs in Nutrition and Health Sciences and Global Health and Development, as well as the MPH degree in both traditional 24-month and 12- and 15-month formats.

Currently, 158 students are enrolled in the MPH programs. The Department hosts several international fellowships, including Hubert H.

Humphrey, Fogarty, Fulbright, and William H. Foege Fellows.

The Rollins School of Public Health, ranked 4th in the nation among Schools of Public Health, currently employs over 200 full-time faculty and enrolls over 2000 full and part-time graduate students in its masters and doctoral programs including Global MPH programs in the Departments of Environmental Health and in Epidemiology.

Research spans the local Atlanta community to global contexts, with projects in over 50 countries supported by more than $100m in competitive faculty funding annually.

Located on the Emory University campus, the School includes six academic departments and offers joint MPH degrees with the schools of medicine, nursing, business, law and theology and four additional PhD programs, in Epidemiology;

Biostatistics, Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Science; Health Services and Health Policy; and Environmental Health Sciences.

Located in Atlanta, a diverse, dynamic city, known as the cradle of the civil rights movement, Emory University has an endowment of $7.

8 billion, more than $800 million in total research funding and enrolls more than 15,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

The Emory Global Health Institute links the many global health activities across the campus. Nearby are the Carter Center, the Task Force for Global Health, CARE International, the American Cancer Society, and CNN.
