Kanner & Pintaluga, a dynamic and rapidly growing personal injury and property damage law firm, seeks a highly motivated and passionate Trial Paralegal to join our team in Boca Raton, FL.
POSITION SUMMARY :
Trail Paralegals work directly with our attorneys to assist them with ongoing cases and prepare them for trial if needed.
In addition, they conduct fact-finding projects and are responsible for maintaining all case files.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Maintain attorney’s calendar.
- Schedule depositions, pre-depositions, meetings, meditations, hearings.
- Document management using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe and SmartAdvocate
- E-file legal documents in Florida’s E-Portal System.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
- Draft legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery demands / responses and subpoenas.
- Send out correspondence to parties / non-parties via email, regular mail, or certified mail.
- Communicate with clients.
- Set up Court Call or Zoom for hearings.
- Prepare Trial Notebooks and Exhibit Lists.
- Retain Experts for Trial.
- Attend 60 day before Trial meetings and Final Trial meetings.
- Complete trial logistic tasks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS :
- Full-time, 8 : 00 am 5 : 00 pm, M-F.
- 2+ years of paralegal experience.
- Experience with the discovery process.
- Experience e-filing in both state and federal courts a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers effectively and efficiently.
- Possess excellent organization skills and be able to multitask and prioritize workload.
- Prepare Trial Notebooks and Exhibit Lists.
- Have an ability to be cross-trained.
- Experience with reviewing medical records / bills and coordinating appearances at trial preferred but not required.
