SUMMARY

Works alongside nurses and BHMPs to assist in the flow and non-technical assessment of clients in an integrated behavioral health outpatient clinic.

DUTIES

  • Ability to take vital signs under the direct supervision of an LPN, RN, PCP, or BHMP and recognize abnormal vital signs, and report these to nursing and BHMPs.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills and experience in working with diverse clients.
  • Capable of organizing and dispensing laboratory slips, medication requests, and pharmacy communications.
  • Experience with computers and electronic documentation.
  • Teamwork is essential with the capability to move between two different sites as the need arises.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication.
  • Coordinate all care and services required to enhance and facilitate the optimal physical and behavioral health wellness of persons served within a trauma-informed care framework.
  • This includes : 1) facilitating communication between medical and behavioral health practitioners / systems ; 2) assisting with scheduling of and compliance with preventative and specialty physical health interventions;
  • 3) integrating treatment interventions to address both the physical and behavioral health needs of the person / family concurrently;

4) assist persons / families served with education and resources outlining the interplay of physical and behavioral health issues on overall wellness and quality of life.

  • May be required to administer injections.
  • Draws laboratory samples and facilitates follow up medical treatment.
  • Performs related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

High School or equivalent required. Must hold an MA certificate. Must have knowledge of vital signs and the concept of electronic charting.

Must have the ability to automate and digital medical equipment. Teamwork is crucial. Must be able to arrange transportation to work among work sites, if needed.

  • Possession of first aid and CPR certification.

  • Fingerprint Clearance
  • Bilingual Preferred.
