Director Operations
THIS IS AN ON-SITE POSITION RELOCATION MAY BE REQUIRED
The role of the Director of Operations is to plan, organize, staff and direct all activities of the plant's operations to achieve Plant and Business P&L goals for all departments, and outside sales.
The Director of Operations will also lead production and plant operations to ensure the effective utilization of resources.
Responsibilities Include : (but are not limited to)
- Direct and coordinate all plant functions including Manufacturing, Accounting, Human Resources, and Environmental, Health, and Safety to assure common direction toward our operational objectives.
- Assume responsibility of the Leadership Team Integrator role.
- Embrace and utilize Core Values to drive decision making throughout the operation.
- Working with Plant Manager, lead the Major Manufacturing Initiative process in a continuous improvement environment, driving productivity gains, downtime reduction, material waste reduction, as well as other organizational goals.
- Guide and support the Accounting area, to include preparing operational and capital budgets annually.
- Guide and support the Human Resource function to meet all operational needs, as well as regulatory requirements.
- Guide and support the Materials Management area, to include operational purchasing, planning, and customer service.
- Guide and support the plant EH&S program in compliance, improvements, investigations, and corrective actions to meet and exceed regulations, standards, and policies.
- Guide and support plant resources in meeting material and labor productivity plans.
- Develop ongoing capital project planning and execution.
- Maintain a positive rapport with all levels of the organization in order to foster and promote a diverse and inclusive work environment, high levels of morale, and high employee engagement.
- Collaborate with all levels of the organization to insure alignment of goals and progress towards them along with short term and long term needs and plans.
- Lead and support the development of plant employees and plant succession planning activities.
- Uphold and apply Company policies and procedures.
Requirements :
- 5+ years in manufacturing leadership roles
- 5+ year managing operations in building materials manufacturing plant (truss, garage door, millwork etc.)
- Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, backed by previous professional success
- Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management
- Strong working knowledge of industry regulations, safety & compliance regulations and legal guidelines
Preferred Skills & Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business administration or related field
- Experience in developing budgets and business plans
- Superior negotiation skills for both internal and external purposes
- LEAN management
