POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join a small team in charge of upholding the cleanliness and maintenance of apartment buildings.

You will be heavily involved in the general maintenance of apartment buildings. In this role, you will need to be professional, and able to work independently and responsibly while observing all health and safety guidelines.

Your responsibilities may include painting, cleaning, basic plumbing, and repairs. You should have experience utilizing a multitude of tools and an understanding of basic maintenance issues.

Previous experience as a technician or carpenter and knowledge of HVAC would be an advantage.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Property upkeep by providing cleaning services
  • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
  • Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary.
  • Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
  • Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo a comprehensive background check as a condition of employment

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in Apartment Maintenance
  • A certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field would be a plus

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The compensation for this position ranges from $20 to $23 commensurate with qualifications and experience. This full-time position is not exempt from overtime pay under federal and state wage and hour laws, which means that it is eligible for overtime time pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a given workweek.
