Research Associate (Mammalian Cell Culture)

Berkeley Lab's ( LBNL ) Molecular Biophysics and Integrated Bioimaging ( MBIB ) and Biological Systems and Engineering ( BSE ) Divisions are looking for a Research Associate to contribute to interdisciplinary projects.

In this exciting role, you will perform semi-routine laboratory experiments including mammalian cell culture, fluorescence imaging, plate-based assays, and basic data analysis. You will assist interdisciplinary teams applying systems biology, multi-omics, and discovery-driven approaches to investigate key questions in human health and innate immunity. The research programs focus on understanding molecular mechanisms underlying responses in diverse biological contexts, such as host-pathogen interactions, inflammation, and particle exposures, using both mammalian cell models and clinical samples. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate laboratory records, preparing data for internal presentations, and contributing to scientific publications.

This position has an anticipated start date of November 3, 2025.

What You Will Do :

Perform sample preparation, experimental assays, data collection, and basic data analysis.

Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks and documentation to ensure reproducibility of results.

Troubleshoot and optimize experimental protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Present research findings at group meetings and contribute to project team discussions.
• Support routine laboratory maintenance to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Order, track, and organize laboratory supplies and reagents.
• Assist with preparation of scientific reports, manuscripts, and publications.
