Job Summary :
The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with Chris' at the Docket's standards and recipes.
This role involves cooking and preparing food items, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely service.
- Assist in the development of new menu items and special dishes.
- Handle and store food products safely and properly.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a team-oriented environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Sous Chef or Executive Chef.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role in a restaurant or culinary environment.
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Culinary school diploma or relevant certification is a plus.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Capability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
