Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

MindCare Solutions is a clinician-owned and operated leader in comprehensive mental health solutions for acute care facilities.

We are expanding our team and seeking a dynamic and growth-oriented Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated and collaborative group.

Ideal candidate has strong inpatient and substance abuse experience, is comfortable working with high acuity patients and is looking to lead the behavioral health unit.

Compensation : up to $145,000 annually (based on experience) - Bonus Eligible

Schedule : 7 on / 7 off - 12 hour shifts

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities :

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to evaluate a patients' mental health status
• Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans based on clinical findings
• The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy options
• Candidate needs to be comfortable working with comorbid diagnosis (substance use disorder and mental illness).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients
• The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary
• Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects
• Preferred comfort level managing chronic medical condition (continuing home meds, minor adjustments if necessary). Provider will have FM / IM consult support
• Perform med floor and ED consults with patients at same facility
• Ability to perform telehealth visits to patients located on medical floor and / or ED units at other partnering facilities.
• Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions
• The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Offers education and support to patients regarding mental health conditions and treatment options
• Perform patient group educational sessions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
• Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions
• Rotating Call

Qualifications :

• Valid license as a Registered Nurse; Certified Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in FL
• At least 1 year of Psychiatric Acute care experience, to include Psychiatric ED, Med / Surge, Inpatient BH unit and / or Psychiatric Consult Liaison work
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
• Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration)
• Child & Adolescent Experience Preferred, but not required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in long-term care facilities
• Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners will maintain clinical competency & collaboration with Psychiatrist (we will provide)
• Direct experience with acute care facilities is preferred as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
• Active and unrestricted driver's license
