Position Description
The Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking a full time General Anesthesiologist faculty member in the Barnes West County Division.
This includes Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, The Orthopedic Center of Chesterfield and the Barnes-Jewish West County Surgery Center.
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital (BJWCH)
- 14 ORs, 5 Endo rooms, Interventional Radiology

The Orthopedic Center of Chesterfield (OC)
- 5 Operating Rooms
- Care for shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee, foot, & ankle disease
- Hub for Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Fellowship program
The Barnes-Jewish West County Surgery Center (ASC)
Four OR Suites specializing in Ophthalmology and Otology procedures
Job includes a mix of solo-performing and supervision of CRNAs. This is a tight-knit group of MDs and CRNAs. Faculty appointment level will depend on the applicant’s credentials and experience.
A part-time position or rotation to other WU Anesthesiology sites will also be considered. If desired, there is opportunity to be active in the vast academic department which has a total of 140 faculty and is also a national leader in research.
New grads are strongly encouraged to apply - fellowship not required, but applicants facile with regional anesthesia are preferred.
Basic Qualifications

Expert Witness Code of Conduct - one time, signed affirmation statement required
