Principal Functions : The digital communications specialist creates and distributes compelling content externally through social media platforms and internally through engaging email campaigns.
This is a full-time non-exempt position. Five days a week flexible schedule including Sundays with occasional nights and weekends.
Responsible to : Director of Communications
Qualifications for the Position :
- Creative thinker with a passion for creating digital content for the church.
- Experience with social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Commitment to support the mission of The Church of St. John the Divine and the Episcopal Church.
Education and Experience Requirements :
- Proven experience managing social media platforms for a brand or organization.
- Ability to create photo and video content for publication on social media platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of social media best practices and trends.
- Experience creating engaging newsletters and analyzing email performance.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Bachelor's degree along with three years of relevant experience preferred.
Duties include but are not limited to :
- Create and curate engaging content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Manage social media accounts, including scheduling and publishing posts, monitoring comments and messages, and responding to inquiries.
- Analyze social media metrics and insights to track the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Lay out and schedule weekly email content including, but not limited to, weekly newsletters, stand-alone emails, and daily devotionals.
- Capture compelling images and video content to utilize in social media on Sunday mornings.
- Assist production team with Sunday live stream setup and execution.
- Assist with graphic design and photography as needed.
