Director of IT Job Description
Our client, a premier software company specializing in document management solutions across various industries, including healthcare, is seeking a Director of IT.
This pivotal role ensures the alignment of the IT strategy with business objectives and leads software development, quality assurance, systems administration, and DevOps teams.
The Director of IT is essential for driving technological innovation, shaping the digital roadmap, and overseeing the successful implementation of IT initiatives.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the development and support operations that provide an enterprise-level SaaS environment, achieving strategic objectives set by executive management.
- Manage IT staffing for our client, including interviewing, hiring, training, and directing work; also responsible for performance appraisals, mentoring, and resolving issues.
- Oversee the development and implementation of scalable and secure technology systems, software solutions, and infrastructure.
- Evaluate new technologies for strategic advantage and business impact for our client.
- Assist in developing and implementing software plans on both short and long-term scales.
- Manage systems architecture, software development, network infrastructure, and data security.
- Ensure high performance, uptime, and data integrity across technology operations.
- Direct the execution of production tasks as per schedule.
- Maintain the sustainability of applications through regular updates and adherence to best security practices.
- Establish security standards for software development and systems administration.
- Monitor compliance with federal security requirements and ADA compliance.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Experience teams to support customer interactions and technical architecture documentation.
- Communicate with Product Owners to align system developments with software priorities.
- Maintain IT security plans and policies.
- Ensure business continuity with disaster recovery and backup procedures.
Skills :
- Extensive experience in the software development lifecycle.
- Expertise in software development, and cloud architecture, particularly AWS.
- Proficiency in Agile / Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with LAMP stack architecture and coding languages like PHP, Python, JavaScript, and AJAX.
- Strong command of IT security best practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of motivating teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale technology projects successfully.
Education and Experience :
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- An MS or MBA is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, AWS) are a plus.
- At least 10 years of experience in developing commercial software and leading technical teams.
