About The Position We are seeking an experienced Pathologist for an 8-day locum tenens assignment in Illinois, starting Dec 20, 2025. This opportunity involves a mix of scheduled 8-hour onsite shifts and 24-hour call coverage, primarily handling dermatopathology cases and surgical grossing during standard working hours. Job Details Location : Illinois Start Date : Dec 20, 2025 LOA : 8 days Provider Type Needed : Pathologist Schedule : Monday-Friday : 8am-5pm (8 hours) Saturday / Sunday : 12am-12am (24-hour call) Dec 20, 2025 – 24-hour call Dec 21, 2025 – 24-hour call Dec 22, 2025 – 8 hours onsite Dec 23, 2025 – 8 hours onsite Dec 24, 2025 – 8 hours onsite Dec 25, 2025 – 24-hour call Dec 26, 2025 – 8 hours onsite Dec 27, 2025 – 24-hour call Responsibilities and Duties Provide pathology coverage with a focus on dermatopathology cases Perform surgical grossing, including lumpectomies, colons, and hysterectomies (biopsies not grossed) Oversee staining procedures, with slides sent to external laboratory Manage sporadic frozen sections (approximately 2-3 per week, scheduled within working hours) Collaborate with onsite laboratory staff and ensure timely case processing Additional Information Active Illinois medical license required Board certification in Pathology - Clinical required Prior experience in surgical and dermatopathology cases preferred Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
