Job Description

Certification Details

  • Traveler must have Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or compact license from their permanent address state.
  • BLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY
  • PALS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY

Job Details

  • Traveler must meet all minimum requirements below to be considered.
  • Do not submit travelers who have or will have expiring licenses and / or certifications during the timeframe of the entire assignment.
  • Traveler will automatically be declined.
  • Only submit travelers who can work the schedule in posting and interested in the unit.
  • Provide care for critically ill newborns, infants, and their families across the continuum of care, from admission to discharge.
  • Provide care for infants requiring the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, including a wide variety of medical and surgical complexities.

Job Requirements

  • Level 4 NICU experience required, or level III that included some surgical and trach vent management
  • Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach / vents, various modes of invasive / noninvasive ventilation
  • Traveler must have completed two years in an acute care setting in addition to at least one year in a level IV NICU or level III NICU meeting above requirements
  • Traveler must have successfully completed 13-week travel assignment.

Schedule Information

  • Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience.
  • Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions).

Unit Specific Information

  • Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and / or based on the traveler's competency skills / experience.
  • The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and / or different locations within the organization.
  • During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete the contract.

Additional Details

  • UW Health is moving away from using outdated file formats for Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
