About The Position
Job Title : Sterile Processing Technician Job Specialty : Nursing - Registered Nurse Medical Center Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 8-Hour Day Shift Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : 2+ years License : Not specified Certifications : None required Must-Have : - Must be able to assemble, sterilize, decontaminate, and wrap instruments / equipment.
- High-level disinfection skills. - Instrument inspection capability. Job Description : Work in decontamination and sterilization, processing items for the operating room and clinics.
- Rotate shifts weekly : one week from 06 : 30 to 15 : 00, and the next from 08 : 00 to 16 : 30.- Be on-call once every third weekend from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.
- Work may be required across three different sites. - Charting system and equipment used include EPIC for viewing surgery schedules and Steris sterilizer / washer.
- Possible floating between different sites based on weekly or census needs; mid-shift floating may occur, though destinations are typically known in advance.
- Orientation spans 1-3 days on the unit, depending on comfort level.- Holiday coverage includes working one summer and one winter holiday.
- Procedural scrub color provided for work attire.- No NICU; trauma level III; primary stroke center.- Patient types include general, GYN, ENT, urology, ortho, podiatry, and vascular.
