We are a vibrant and growing refractive ophthalmology practice seeking the right individual to fill this important role within our practice.
The Patient Advocate (Surgical Coordinator) is responsible for assisting the patient with all aspects of the surgery process in order to make the surgical experience as smooth as possible for the patient, and acts as an effective liaison between the patient, surgeon, referring doctor, and the surgical facility.
Our main location is in Quincy with satellite offices in Norwell, Norwood and Weymouth. 10-20 minutes interoffice travel is required;

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Build relationships with, and educate patients, on the various ocular surgery procedures.
- Provide support to multiple surgeons.
- Explain the lens and technology options to cataract patients.
- Discuss out of pocket and elective procedures, such as LASIK.
- Coordinate paperwork and details with ambulatory surgery center.
- Obtain insurance referrals and prior authorizations for surgical procedures.
- Must be willing to work within the surgery scheduling / coordinator team.
