The schedule isbased on the needs of the library and could change if and whenneeded. Starting pay is $17.8422.29 an hour based on ss andqualifications.

POSITIONSUMMARY
TheMaintenance Technician is responsible for keeping our facilitiesoperating optimally and repairing any problems when discovered byperforming cleaning duties minor repairs and limited groundmaintenance in and around the Library facilities at all locationsasneeded.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Perform cleaning duties minor repairs andlimited ground maintenance as requested.
- Report need for major repairs to FacilitiesManagement.
- Reportneed for supply orders to FacilitiesManagement.
- ist inand maintain building safety. Report all safety hazards to theFacilities Management
- ist in daily meeting room setups andpreparation.
- ist inmaintaining the cleanliness of Library facilities by : leaning allentrance ways and perimeter sidewalks sweeping all garbage inparking lot and islands emptying all outside garbage bags andreplenishing with new bags on a dailybasis.
- ist with alloutside cleaning projects.
- ist with the deliveries on and shipments offthe dock.
- Providebackup istance to security personnel asneeded.
- Attendmeetings and training as required orrequested.
- Abide bythe policies and procedures of the Library.
- Treat all patrons and employees fairly andwith an open mind; maintain patron and employeeconfidentiality.
- Communicate clearly either in person on thetelephone and in writing.
- Cope with the stress of the job and get alongwith coworkers.
- Maintain the ability and patience tounderstand and make yourself understood by allpatrons.
- Other dutiesasigned.
EDUCATIONALAND EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general educationdegree (GED) required; and at least two years related experienceand / or training;
or equivalent combination of education andexperience.
- Workingknowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database applicationsis required.
- Abilityto read and interpret doents such as safety rules operating andmaintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to writeroutine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups ofcustomers or employees of organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understandingto carry out detailed but involved written and oral instructions.
- Ability to deal withproblems involving a few concrete variables in standardizedsituations.
- A validdriver’s license is required for thisposition.
