Jersey Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07206Job Overview : The Trinitas Department of Behavioral Health and Psychiatry, part of Trinitas Regional Medical Center and an RWJBarnabas Health facility, offers comprehensive treatments for daily stress, aging challenges, child development, and chemical dependency alternatives.

With specialized care for adults, children, adolescents, and families, including provisions for mentally ill / developmentally-disabled individuals in a 98-bed inpatient facility, we serve individuals from Union County and across New Jersey.

Providing over 200,000 outpatient visits annually, our services range from Mobile Crisis Units to Inpatient and Outpatient care, staffed by a diverse, multi-disciplinary team of practitioners, including bilingual staff.

Renowned for excellence and innovation, we lead in areas such as inpatient psychiatric care for individuals with Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, and trauma-focused residential programs for adolescent girls, making us one of New Jersey s premier hospital-based Behavioral Health providers.

Qualifications : Required : + Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing+ Minimum 1 year behavioral health RN experience+ Strong communication and organizational skills+ Proficient computer skillsPreferred : + Emergency room experience as an RN+ Baccalaureate Degree in NursingCertifications and Licenses Required : + Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey+ BLS through American Heart Association upon hireScheduling Requirements : + Full-Time+ Night Shift+ 40 hrs WeeklyEssential Functions : Leads and co-lead psychiatric milieu.

Manages inventories of CDS and complete crash care inventory as per P&P. Develops tx plans. Notifies physician of pertinent data related to med abnormal labs change to MSE.

Verifies accuracy of MD orders. Seeks clarification when needed to ensure proper care. Collaborates with team to interpret the patient and or significant info related to patient present needs.

Develops teaching plans and med education. Completes RN triage assessment and daily RN notes. Applies nursing principles to ID problems and resultant nursing care needs once home / discharges.

Administers medication according to policy.Access patients side effects and clinical response. Recognizes and takes lead in need for 1 : 1 and patient interactions.

Identifies patients at risk for suicide. Initiates intervention for the suicidal agitated assaultive patient according to established procedures.

Applies restraints as necessary and takes lead in documentation notifying MD and ensuring face to face within one hour according to P&P.

Delegates appropriately and ensures completion of task for MHW and registrars. Identifies knowledge of criteria to identify victims of abuse and neglect.
