POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales and Business Development Director is responsible for promoting and reaching sales targets, working closely with managers to set goals to meet company objectives, and developing sales plans and business ideas to increase the customer base and improve revenue margins.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the President, the duties and responsibilities of the Sales and Business Development Director include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Responsible for strategic business development and creating sales plans to increase the growth of CSI, both financially and by building a more extensive customer base.
- Provide direction and collaborate with other departments to identify new industry market potential and how CSI can provide services in these industries.
- Utilize sales skills and business knowledge to obtain new leads in the current industries CSI services, as well as new ones.
- Develop relationships and maintain a database of leads, consultants, and vendors.
- Make initial contact and actively pursue new targeted markets as deemed appropriate by the President and Engineering Director.
- Maintain a sales and business forecast report to track all activity of current customers, new leads, increased business, and potential future business.
- Provide bi-weekly updates to the President on which leads will increase sales growth and which have developed into quotes and activity for CSI.
- Work with the Engineering Director and Project Managers to obtain reasonable goals and timelines to complete new business.
- Create budget and pricing proposals with accuracy for planning and forecasting.
- Attend viable trade shows to attract new business.
- Sell the company's complete offering of products and services.
- Accountable for the timely assignment of all sales organization objectives.
- Direct implementation and execution of sales policies and practices.
- Evaluate, suggest, and create professional presentations to optimize customer's current technology needs and enhance their business process.
Minimum Requirements
Eight (8) to Ten (10) plus years of experience in a sales manager role or business development.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Customer service orientation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
