Leadership Position : Health Information Management-Medical Records & Privacy
Oversee the small community type atmosphere of the HIM Department : Medical Records, Release of Information, Privacy of patient records for an Inpatient and Outpatient Medical Facility known to meet “
Excellence” in patient satisfaction survey’s year after year.
Enforces policies and procedures and regulations required by government compliance.
Promotes staff by educating and encouraging documentation improvement
Ensures staff have good communication and good HIM software skills using 3M.
Enhances workflows and makes recommendations on HIPAA Privacy, quality, audit of records by fully understanding patient diagnoses, diagnosis codes and conditions, indicators, high risk patients and admission and discharge criteria.
Runs and reviews DRG reports and reviews revenue cycle reports with Director of Revenue Cycle, Legal counsel and CFO.
Tracks MACRA data, Case Mix and clinical documentation on variances to detect outlier issues to make proactive corrections.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree
- Certificates-RHIA or RHIT with American Health Information Management Association or become certified within 1 year of employment
- 5 years of Health Information Management / HIM, and Medical Records experience
- 3 Years minimum Management or Supervisory experience in Medical Records
- 3 years HIPAA privacy and confidentiality management experience
- Advanced Electronic Medical Records experience using 3M Coding and EMR experience
- Strong Health Information Medical Records or Revenue Cycle or Coding Reporting Analysis experience
- Strong working knowledge of protected health Information and EMR record audit procedures
- Has great communication skills and brings positivity to assist team development
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external Health Information Security departments. HISP
- Participates in Committee meetings regularly and works closely with interdepartmental leadership. About the position : Full time (salaried) $108-135K-Depending on Experience
