Department of Urology at UCSF Health

The Department of Urology at the University of California, San Francisco, is recruiting for the next Service Chief in Endourology.

Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

Endourology, Department of Urology

The Endourology Division of the UCSF Department of Urology is a dynamic group of five faculty members dedicated to patient care, health equity, scholarship, and medical education.

Chief of Endourology, Department of Urology

The Department Chief will lead the clinical, educational, and research missions for the Endourology Division. In coordination with the Chair, the Chief manages hiring, supervision, and mentorship of faculty and administrative staff.

The Service Chief will be responsible for all clinical, administrative, financial, quality improvement, and academic oversight of the Division.

The Service Chief must articulate the goals of the service, advocate for the service in pursuit of these goals, foster a professional climate that is collegial and respectful, and encourage faculty engagement and innovation.

The successful candidate will oversee GME and UME activities and act as a steward for the Department's financial resources.

The Service Chief will partner with other department leadership to deliver superlative care to the residents of San Francisco.

The preferred candidate will have an outstanding research track record marked by innovation, scholarship, and independent grant funding.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Medical Degree
  • California Medical Licensure - must have or be able to obtain
  • Board Certification in Urology
  • Completed an accredited fellowship in Endourology
  • Demonstrated skills in collaborative teamwork with a successful record in leadership
  • Evidence of research productivity
  • Experience working with and supervising residents and medical students in a clinical setting

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Quality improvement experience and training
  • Prior experience with change management and leading administrative projects
  • Track-record of Independent grant funding

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 . The minimum base salary range for this position is $184,700-$393,200.

This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
