GIS Developer

Our client is a growing firm in the telecommunications industry and has the need to hire a GIS Developer for their team. This role will assist production teams, within the engineering organization to develop software, scripts / plug-ins, etc that will increase efficiencies across the company.

General Duties / Key Responsibilities :

Design and develop software applications, scripts / plug-ins, etc based on business requirements, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.

Collaborate with internal teams to understand and translate business needs into technical specifications.

Troubleshoot and debug software issues, identifying root causes and implementing timely fixes.

Integrate software components and third-party APIs to enhance application functionality.

Develop and maintain databases, ensuring data integrity and security.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and actively participate in continuous learning and professional development.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the development lifecycle.

Contribute to the improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance team productivity.

Any / all duties related to software development that may be required for project(s)

Required :

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or related field is highly desired, but 3 years of experience will also be accepted.

3 pls years in software engineering / development

Certificate / License and working knowledge in python, JavaScript

Experience with QGIS / ArcMAP / ArcPro / ArcGIS / AGOL etc (or similar GIS software)

Preferred :

Fiber Optic Network Design Experience

Working knowledge of JAVA, C++

Other utility network design experience

This is a 6 month temp to hire position. Candidate can be remote if the live in one of the following states :  MO, KS, AZ, WA, OR, IL, GA, NV, CA, TX, MS
