Job Summary :

The successful Production Maintenance Technician will assist greenhouse personnel by performing preventative maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.

g., mechanical, plumbing, electrical). The technician also solicits suppliers and other vendors in order to procure the supplies and / or contractors needed to complete upkeep projects within the established budget.

Key responsibilities include ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety policies and regulations as well as legal regulations surrounding workplace safety.

Summary of essential job functions :

• Evaluate & recommend equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability, and yield.
• Perform equipment failure analysis (including preventative and unscheduled maintenance).
• Perform daily repair work orders, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
• Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
• Organize maintenance shop, maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians.
• Maintain awareness of the physical condition of the property and immediately correct unsafe conditions.
• Maintain accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, service requests (received and completed), expenditures and status of work in progress

Minimum Requirements :

• High School diploma or equivalent, plus 3-5 years related industry experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with electrical systems, tools, equipment, codes and safety procedures.
• Must have plumbing & electrical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with hazardous classifications.
• Intermediate computer skills
• Valid Driver License, clean criminal history and drug free
• Must be in good physical condition and able to work outdoors for extended periods of time.
• Must tolerate exposure to greenhouse elements such as heat, cold, water and dirt.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs. and able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
