Maintenance Mechanic

Are you a successful Maintenance Mechanic looking to advance in your career?

We need a Maintenance Mechanic that can thrive under minimal supervision. You will perform general and routine maintenance and repairs for large production machinery, equipment, and facilities to help reduce downtime and ensure smooth running operations.

Maximize equipment utilization by Maintaining the Machinery to Run at Available Capacity and speed. Demonstrate the Ability to Plan and schedule Maintenance Work.

Follow Up on All Work to Ensure Repairs and Work are correctly performed and Comply with All Company Policies and procedures, including Safety and Good Housekeeping.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for diagnosing and repairing, maintaining, modifying, replacing, and installing plant mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for all plant equipment and control systems used in manufacturing,
• Responsible for knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, basic carpentry, electrical, electronics, welding, and other skilled trades as applicable to perform a variety of maintenance tasks,
• Responsible for assisting with plant inspections and related facilities for mechanical and equipment problems, reviewing and examining areas, and determining appropriate action(s),
• Responsible to apply general maintenance and repair principles,
• Responsible for operating a variety of hand and power tools in the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of parts, machines, and equipment,
• Responsible to read and understand mechanical and electrical prints, blueprints, schematics, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams,
• Responsible for accurately completing work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties,
• Responsible for effectively understanding, learning, and follow all department Standard Operating Procedures for your position,

Required Skills

• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Must be organized with strong attention to detail,
• Must be able to self-motivate, be accountable, and work independently.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair plant equipment promptly and effectively.
• Must have a working knowledge of precision mechanical maintenance, welding, pipefitting, rotating equipment (i.e., pumps and gearboxes), hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Must be able to operate hand and power tools, & power equipment, with the Ability to understand basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and plumbing principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, wiring, diagrams, and drawings preferred.
• Must be a positive / team player, ready and willing to assist where and when needed, including working overtime and weekends.
• Must successfully prioritize projects and tasks in an occasional hectic environment.

Must have basic computer skills.

• Must be willing to learn or have experience operating a forklift and scissor lift,
• Must have basic math and computer skills.

Education :

• High school diploma or equivalent required,
• Apprenticeship or associate degree in a related field, preferred,
• Minimum of 1-year experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment

Reports to : Maintenance Manager

Travel : local travel for parts runs; however, an occasional run to a customer in a TN facility may be necessary.
