Job Description

As a Security Officer - Education Entryway Desk Patrol in Philadelphia, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more.

As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, students, and staff. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and assisting with visitor management to help to deter security-related incidents. You will provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a welcoming environment. What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

Provide customer service to clients, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk.

Monitor access to the location, verifying identification and / or credentials as required.

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.

Assist with visitor management, including logging guests and issuing temporary passes as needed.

Communicate professionally with staff, students, and visitors to address inquiries and provide information about the location.

Support emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal and / or site management.

Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to company and site guidelines.

What We're Looking For :

Availability across various days and shifts

Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments

A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company

Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements :

Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Customer service experience is preferred.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
