The beautiful new Canopy Jersey City Arts District is looking for an exceptional candidate as its new Lead Food & Beverage Enthusiast / Director of Food & Beverage.
Job Title : Director of Food & Beverage REPORTS TO : General Manager / Chief Enthusiast POSITION SUMMARY : We are looking for a professional Food and Beverage Director to be responsible for managing all F&B operations and for delivering an excellent guest experience.
The successful candidate will be able to forecast, plan and manage all F&B orders, staff and finance. The goal is to maximize sales and revenue through customer satisfaction and employee engagement.
Duties and Responsibility : Manage all F&B and day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards.
Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service. Design exceptional menus, purchase goods and continuously make necessary improvements.
Identify customers' needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns. Lead F&B team by attracting, recruiting, training and appraising talented personnel.
Establish targets, KPI’s, schedules, policies and procedures. Provide a two-way communication and nurture an ownership environment with emphasis in motivation and teamwork.
Comply with all health and safety regulations. Report on management regarding sales results and productivity Ensuring that food preparation and sanitation standards are being met by all staff members.
Developing relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure that the restaurant is getting the best possible prices on food and supplies.
Developing promotions and advertising campaigns to increase sales and attract new customers. Managing an inventory of food, beverage, and supplies to ensure that restaurants have adequate supplies for service.
Schedules periodic food and beverage service staff meetings to ensure correct interpretation of policies and obtain feedback from staff members.
Is flexible in dealing with changes / problems (e.g., being short staffed). Delegates and follow-up effectively. Proficiency in using computer software to monitor inventory, track staff schedules and pay, and perform other record keeping tasks.
Shifts priorities and goals as work demands change. Total receipts and balance against sales, deposit receipts, and lock facility at end of day.
Maintain budget and employee records, prepare payroll, and pay bills, or monitor bookkeeping records. Requirements Proven food and beverage management experience Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
Mastery in delegating multiple tasks. Communication and leadership skills Up to date with food and beverages trends and best practices Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets.
Guest-oriented and service-minded Culinary school diploma or degree in food service management or related field Has effectively managed Team Members for 12+ months. Powered by JazzHR
