Mackinnon Bruce International is thrilled to partner with a prominent company in the industrial sector that is on the lookout for a dynamic Area Sales Manager, focussing on the rotating equipment market.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales of products to businesses and industrial establishments, whether at a sales office, store, or directly at customer locations.
This position is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction while achieving sales objectives.
Primary Objective
As the Area Sales Manager, you will oversee all sales functions within your assigned territory, working to create competitive advantages and maximize customer satisfaction and return on investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Management : Lead the overall sales functions within your territory, focusing on creating a competitive edge and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Order Fulfilment : Strive for timely delivery of customer orders, maintaining a target of at least 95% on-time performance.
- Product Knowledge : Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the products or services offered, and how they support overall operations and customer needs.
- Strategic Growth Support : Contribute to national sales growth initiatives through End User, OEM, and Distribution Channels on an annual basis.
- Reporting and Metrics : Provide timely completion of quotations, reports, and accountability metrics to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Safety and Standards : Uphold good housekeeping standards and safety practices daily, utilizing appropriate protective gear and following company policies.
- Progress Reporting : Submit monthly progress reports on program bookings and sales activities.
- Attendance and Training : Aim for punctuality and a high standard of attendance and participate in company-sponsored training while maintaining required job training records.
- Policy Adherence : Follow all company policies and procedures, including the employee manual and Quality & HSE System.
- Additional Duties : Perform any other related duties as required.
Key Performance Measurements
- Achieve shipment targets against the plan for U.S. sales territories.
- Meet corporate targets for gross margins.
- Improve overall customer satisfaction as reflected in survey results.
Education and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or an equivalent engineering degree.
- 5-7 years of experience in the rotating industry.
Experience
- Proven track record in selling MTBF solutions with strong technical selling skills.
- Demonstrated motivational and managerial abilities with a keen sense of urgency to identify equipment, process, and industry opportunities.
- Experience in successfully launching ideas to full market implementation.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with both customers and internal teams.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- A solid work ethic with the ability to work collaboratively in teams while leading initiatives for successful program execution.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and possess excellent written and verbal reporting skills.
- Willingness to travel 50% or more.
