Director, Business Strategy & Planning

Within Worldwide Enterprise Sales (WES), the Enterprise Sales & Operations Team (ES&O) is tasked with empowering enterprise sellers by providing strategic planning, skill development, fostering a strong community, and driving AI-driven innovation. The team focuses on expanding the sales pipeline through effective coaching and operational best practices, while also advancing seller capabilities in AI and industry-specific areas.

As the Director, Business Strategy & Planning in the (ES&O) Strategy & Planning team, you will define strategy for the Digital Native segment, drive growth initiatives, develop sales models, and coordinate leadership for successful execution. You'll create go-to-market plans and encourage customer-focused innovation, all while promoting Microsoft's values and an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Understands Digital Native business, challenges norms, simplifies complexity, and identifies high-impact priorities.
  • Leads and adjusts plans with field and corporate partners to achieve goals.
  • Aligns and influences stakeholders across divisions toward a shared vision and motivates for action.
  • Creates problem-solving frameworks and shares best practices.
  • Manages multiple projects and teams, defining objectives, deliverables, resources, and timelines while proactively resolving issues.
  • Identifies and proposes new transformation initiatives based on unmet needs.

Qualifications

  • Required / minimum qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years experience in business consulting, sales, sales operations, information technology (IT), account management, business development, marketing, IT field sales, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience in Near Term Strategy (2 years out), Management Consulting, Sales, or Finance.
  • Additional or preferred qualifications : Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 5+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and / or partner organization experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, finance, economics, and / or partner organization experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience leading cross-functional initiatives focused on digital-native customers or cloud-native business strategy.
  • Sales Strategy Enablement IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
