A day in the life

As a process technician at Swift, you will be a core team member, ushering our company to the next stage of development by helping operate and optimize our new research projects. You will specialize in running thin-film deposition tools to make sure the team maintains a high throughput and a reliable and scalable process. Working at an early-stage startup, you will have the opportunity to get involved in many aspects of the company's technical development and internal operations.

On a typical day, you will review experimental plans with Swift's process engineers, execute these plans, document the experiments in detail, and share your results to others. You will be responsible for documenting and reporting any observations made during operation, helping evaluate the data, and suggesting improvements to follow-up experiments. As you become familiar with our tools, your job will involve managing and communicating supply needs, workflows, results, and tool output. Maintaining organized, accurate records of the processes and recipes, communicating your work, and managing your time effectively are key parts of the job.

As an early hire, you will help craft Swift's culture and technical direction. As our team grows, we'll expect you to help mentor and set an example for new team members. You will find many opportunities to grow your own skills and capabilities, and we encourage you to take full advantage of them.

You might be a good fit if you...

• Have experience working as a technician in a technical field
• Are able to work a 1 : 30pm-10pm shift
• Are familiar with safety practices typical in a laboratory environment containing various chemicals
• Can follow standard operating procedures independently and adapt to complex and varying instructions
• Are eager to learn, take initiative without prompt and are able to multitask to effectively manage your time
• Are kind, empathetic, conscientious, and motivated to make an impact on climate change
