About the Role :

The Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) at UH WCMC and WCMCH plays a critical role in supporting the emergency care team by providing essential clinical and non-clinical assistance to patients and medical staff. This position ensures the smooth operation of the emergency department by preparing patients for examinations, assisting with procedures, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. The ED Tech acts as a vital liaison between patients and healthcare providers, helping to deliver timely and compassionate care during high-pressure situations. By efficiently managing equipment, supplies, and patient transport, the ED Tech contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of emergency services. Ultimately, this role is fundamental in enhancing patient outcomes and supporting the multidisciplinary team in delivering exceptional emergency care on a full-time basis.

Minimum Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or emergency department setting preferred.
• Ability to work full-time shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
