LaSalle Network is currently partnering with a Food Safety company looking for a Part-time Payroll Specialist to help their team on a contract basis.
The role is looking to be between 20-30 hours per week and will be responsible for processing payroll for approximately 250 employees located in various states.
This position is fully remote for candidates based in the Central / Eastern time zone.
This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling payroll for a diverse workforce and be able to work independently in a remote environment.
Part-time Payroll Specialist Responsibilities :
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 250 employees across multiple states
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll in compliance with federal, state and local regulations
- Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations and changes in status
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance
Part-time Payroll Specialist Requirements :
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of multi-state payroll regulations
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field is preferred
