Overview This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

This role is with the Credit Portfolio Analytics team, which is part of the Credit Administration and Infrastructure Organization of First Citizens Bank (FCB).

The Credit Risk Risk Analyst will provide complex support and expertise to the business (1st line of defense) and credit risk (2nd line of defense) units through credit research, data gathering, developing, and executing risk procedures.

This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and measuring credit risk in FCB’s loan portfolio while developing high-impact solutions to minimize or effectively manage risk.

The Credit Risk Risk Analyst will create improvements to current processes and procedures and ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations.

They may oversee the work of less experienced analysts in the team or serve as a resource on credit risk. The role is focused on developing credit metrics, predictive analytics, and models to provide business insight to mitigate risk in the loan portfolio and ensure that loan portfolio risk profile is within the FCB’s credit risk appetite.

A successful individual in this position will build a strong understanding of credit and risk management at FCB and master project management and process improvement skills to support the evolving credit risk management function at FCB.

The role will be pivotal in building credit risk processes and solutions for the future and will be very visible, with exposure to various stakeholders, senior management, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities Identifying Risk - Creates and implements complex methods of credit risk evaluation. Develops expert strategies or solutions to address evaluation results and monitoring to ensure developed solutions are effective.

Data Analysis - Sources, compiles, and interprets credit risk related data. Performs complex analysis for risk trends and forecasting, develops credit analytics and models, effectively communicates analysis output.

Reporting - Produces reports based on data analysis, company trends, and key risk factors. Conveys patterns, problems, and areas of improvement.

Enables insight into potential credit losses and mitigation of identified risks through reporting activities. Provides analytical content to the Credit Reporting and Analytics team.

Operational Support - Supports business processes through a variety of escalated operational tasks. Develops, implements, and ensures continuous improvement of procedures.

Acts as a resource to management and other associates, including production of documentation, presentations, or other materials to educate on credit risk metrics, policies and procedures.

Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience in Risk Analytics or Analytics OR High School Diploma or GED and 7 years of experience in Risk Analytics or Analytics Preferred Qualifications : Thorough understanding of econometric and financial modeling techniques.

Proficiency with statistical and data analysis and programming tools such as R, SAS, SQL and Python. Knowledge of relevant third-party vendor credit risk models and products is a plus.

Excellent oral and written communication, and presentation skills. If hired in CA or NY the base pay for this position is generally between $120,785 and $163,415.

If hired in AZ, the base pay for this position is generally between $110,670 and $149,730. If hired in NC, the base pay for this position is generally between$100,640 and $136,160.

Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.

For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and / or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
