The Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development, School of Education and Human Development (effective August 15, 2024, the School of Education and Human Development will change its name to the College of Education and Human Development) at Texas A&M University invites applications for one full-time, Professor of Practice, Academic Professional Track, Non-Tenure position in Educational Human Resource Development (EHRD) with a 9-month academic appointment beginning September 1, 2025.
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Applicants will be considered for the Professor of Practice in the Educational Human Resource Development program.
We are especially interested in qualified candidates with extensive expertise within the academic community through their teaching, research, and service and who have a vision for the program.
The successful candidate will be expected to :
- Expectations of responsibilities related to the position (80%) teaching, ( 10%) research, and ( 10%) service.
- Develop undergraduate and graduate courses in the Educational Human Resource Development (EHRD) program.
- Integrate professional experiences and networks to advance learning outcomes.
- Develop, oversee, and teach a departmental-wide socialization to the doctoral program course.
- Advise undergraduate and graduate students in Educational Human Resource Development (EHRD) program.
- Serve on graduate committees and service to the department, university, and the profession.
- Maintain a record of excellence in scholarship pertinent to the Educational Human Resource Development (EHRD) program.
- Contribute to the development of the profession through participation in national and / or international associations, publications, and / or other related activities.
- Continue personal growth and leadership influence within the profession, keep current with the field, and broaden knowledge and expertise.
- Conduct applied or translational research that aligns with the Educational Human Resource Development (EHRD) programming effort.
- Publish creative and scholarly work in refereed journals appropriate to the faculty member's subject area, and present research findings at relevant industry meetings, professional meetings, or conferences as relevant to research responsibilities.
- Support academic pursuits in the subject matter area through activities such as guest lectures, graduate student mentorship, and student research activities.
- Engage with external groups including state and federal government agencies, stakeholder organizations, industry, departmental advisory board, and other entities to better understand issues and potential partners in addressing stakeholder needs.
- Member of professional organizations and societies.
- Demonstrate collegiality by serving on departmental / unit committees and demonstrating a track record of building effective working relationships across departments, agencies, and / or colleges.
- Facilitate experiential learning opportunities, such as internships, practicums, and industry partnerships.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Demonstrated discipline expertise and show clear promise of teaching excellence as evidenced in evaluation by peers, department head, and school dean.
- Documented yearly progress of professional achievement in teaching, research, and service.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals.
- Experience in area of specialization, ability to write grant proposals to secure external funding; evidence of publishing in peer-reviewed journals;
and participation in professional societies
Required Qualifications :
- Earned doctorate in Educational Human Resource Development (EHRD) or related field .
- Evidence of the potential for developing an outstanding program and indications of strong mentorship and teaching skills are required.
- Evidence of publication in top-tier academic journals in EHRD, and / or closely related field, consistent with a Professor of The Practice faculty member at a research-extensive university.
- Demonstrated ability to acquire extramural funding.
- Demonstrated ability of effective teaching ( face-to-face and online) for undergraduate and graduate courses related to EHRD, and / or closely related field.
- Ability to advise undergraduate and graduate students.
- Clear and innovative research agenda that will strengthen and advance the EHRD program (nationally and internationally).
