Field Superintendent - Flooring Construction - Base Salary to 70k / year Dallas, TX
Our client is a flooring company has been in business since 2009. They are a family owned and operated company running on decades of experience.
Their core principle is their dedication to customer service. They believe in keeping team members focused on their customer-centered mentality in all they do.
Due to growth they are in need of a Field Superintendent to join the team in Dallas.
Responsibilities :
- Primary point of contact for onsite personnel.
- Manage subcontractor / crew relationships on each project.
- Ensure strict adherence to job budget / cost. Work with Project Manager to identify issues when quantities are incorrect.
- Identify change orders as they arise and work with Project Manager to develop cost and scope.
- Oversee quality control and ensure installation meets MFIs expectations
- Hold crews accountable for material mismanagement.
- Represent company at weekly jobsite meetings.
- Document existing jobsite conditions that need such as sloping, cracking, curved walls, etc. Coordinate with other subcontractors to correct issues and ensure substrates are acceptable prior to installation.
- Develop comprehensive understanding of project specifications, manufacturer required installation methods, patterns (running bond, stacked bond, herringbone, ashlar, east / west, north / south) and ensure crews are accountable.
- Ensure crews utilize proper means / methods of installation (trowels / rollers, spread rate coverages, sealer compatibility, etc.).
- Monitor HVAC installation to ensure proper acclimation of resilient, carpet materials to meet manufacturer requirements.
Coordinate proper moisture testing and / or moisture mitigation recommendations.
- Confirm weekly subcontractor production for weekly payroll. Resolve issues / concerns between project management and crews.
- Schedule and ensure timely completion of punch lists with onsite superintendents and crews.
- Field verify unit measurements as necessary.
- Negotiate with other subcontractors onsite regarding forklift use.
- Ensure crews maintain jobsite cleanliness and free of trash.
- Identify crew back charges as necessary for wasted material, failure to properly manage material.
Qualifications :
- Knowledge of flooring products and installation procedures.
- Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Procore experience preferred
- Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints, drawings and specifications.
- Proven ability to help bring projects in on time, and on budget
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
- Flexible and responsive on evenings and weekends when circumstances dictate.
- Bilingual (Spanish) helpful but not required.
- The position is 90% walking projects with moderate lifting / carrying materials.
