Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a hardworking, kind, and a team oriented person for our staff with :

Communication Skills : You must be able to speak clearly.

Instruction Skills : You will have to explain new ideas and unfamiliar concepts with authority and in a clear and concise way so that students can understand.

You must work to keep the students' attention

Writing Skills : Teachers write progress reports, notes home, and in the case of postsecondary teachers, publish research.

Writing skills are critical.

Patience : The students you work with will have different backgrounds and abilities. Patience will help teachers deal with students who act out or have trouble following the material.

Creativity : Teachers have to find ways to involve students into their lessons. Additionally, teachers may have to work with different learning styles to get the most out of each student.

People Skills : Engaging parents and creating healthy relationships with students and faculty will help create a quality learning environment.

Prepare and serve meals and monitor children during meal times

Change diapers and promote good hygiene

Place or hoist children onto changing tables. Ability to lift children weighing between 10-30 lbs is a must.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

High school diploma / GED required

High level of patience with immense love and compassion for children and excellent child supervision skills

Skilled childcare worker with knowledge of developing fun and interesting activities

3+ years’ child care experience, CDA Preferred

Must possess valid CPR and First Aid certifications

Ability to pass background checks and drug screening required

Caring and compassionate attitude necessary.

New staff are required to have hours of pre-service training in the first 2 weeks of employment if employee does not come in with these child development classes.

All employees, regardless of position, serve as role models for children and adolescents who are served by our agency. Therefore, each employee must at all times be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children, adolescents and adults who may have mental or behavioral health problems.

The staff must be able to demonstrate appropriate daily behavior, appropriate expression of emotions, as well as appropriate role modeling.

Hostility, aggression and unnecessary or inappropriate physical actions as well as inappropriate emotional expression are not acceptable.
