We are searching for a Senior Business Analyst to join the Operations Strategy team, who would be based in San Francisco.

In this role, you will deliver targeted recommendations to business stakeholders to improve our fleet and operational performance through analyses and data storytelling.

You will build metrics, data models, dashboards, and reports to ultimately help drive a more effective and efficient operations.

This role requires strong analytical skills combined with business acumen.

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead the development of key metrics and dashboards that measure our fleet health and operational performance
  • Analyze opportunities for efficiency gains by investigating performance trends and partnering with business stakeholders (namely Product and Operations) to complement data findings with anecdotes
  • Craft presentations and communicate findings to cross functional stakeholders and leaders to influence actions on a regular basis
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to identify opportunity areas, guide business priorities, and enable data-driven decisions
  • Collaborate with data scientists to build underlying data models and leverage new data sources
  • Independently manage project deliverables by scoping metric requirements, creating metric definition and methodology documents, tracking against timelines, and coordinating work across multiple stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • BS in a quantitative field (e.g. Economics, Math, Statistics, Finance)
  • 5+ years working experience in business intelligence or strategic data science / analytics roles in a technology company, or an equivalent analytical role
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in SQL
  • Experience presenting to senior management and using data insights to make recommendations and achieve goals
  • Expertise in visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Mode)
  • Superior attention to detail and strong business acumen
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Ownership mentality to drive issues and tasks to completion, with a strong bias for action

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Python
  • Knowledge or experience working in the transportation industry
  • Familiarity with DBT or data modeling

The base salary range for this position is $112,000 - 168,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions.

These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
