Description :

The Quality Assurance Tech is responsible for all items to quality and overall controls testing, as well as raw material usage throughout the plant. The successful candidate will be a high-energy, self-directed, self-starter with the ability to adapt to changes in schedules / demands with minimal guidance and supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interface across multiple levels of the organization are a must. To ensure a quality product beginning with monitoring of process controls through the final packaging of the product prior to transferring to finished goods.

Requirements : Requirements

  • Monitors the production process and collects necessary dimensional data.
  • Responsible for quality of strapping produced and / or rewound.
  • Monitors and reports on process parameters during production and post-production from Production Logs
  • Inspects product, quarantines non-conforming products for review, and conducts final quality review of held product to facilitate disposition of material.
  • Uses a micrometer to inspect products to ensure they meet the dimensional requirements and records the results. Operates lab equipment to measure break strength, gram weight and IV.
  • Conducts full coil audits on each production line throughout the shift.
  • Ensures quality control and reviews daily production paperwork to ensure they are completed properly and in a timely manner.
  • Verifies that physical work instructions match the production runs in the system.
  • Verifies specialty packaging requirements by product to ensure customer’s expectations are met.
  • Performs routine maintenance, verification, and calibration of testing equipment and measurement devices.
  • Communicates immediately with production operators and leadership regarding any out-of-spec product.
  • Follows all safety rules and wears required personal protective equipment.
  • Physical demand includes standing up to 100% of the time. Continuously inspects product before it is loaded on the skid.
  • Responsible for the quality of all packaging requirements.
  • Trains and Mentors Operators on quality standards and proper use of measurement devices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Prior manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Successfully uses all inspection gauges, tools, and equipment
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic Excel Skills including Data Entry, Formatting, and Basic Formulas
