Overview
The Senior Accountant role is a key contributor on the Controllership team and will provide direct support in ensuring a complete, accurate, and timely monthly close and account reconciliation process.
You will collaborate with members of the Controllership team, finance teams, as well as clinical operations.You will support the day-to-day accounting operations including prepaid accounting, reversing and non-reversing accruals for various departments across the organization, develop insights into employee spend and policy reviews, generate assumptions and budget expectations for key vendors, as well as balance sheet reconciliations and related journal entries.
Responsibilities
- Assist with managing and completion of monthly and year-end closings including preparation and / or review of journal entries.
- Maintain accurate and timely accrual actual to budget reports while developing vendor spend expectations.
- Coordinate with accounts payable, optical operations, purchasing team and FP&A to record monthly accruals timely and accurately.
- Compile and support external auditors' requests for information and documentation.
- Direct various projects (. new site implementations, internal control formulation and implementation, process improvements, .
- Responsible for preparation and / or review of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, financial reports for management, various other financial analyses.
- Prepare and perform financial presentations for management.
- Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
- Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
- Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
- Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.

Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Experience :
Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including prepaid and accrual accounting experienceMulti-location experience preferredPublic accounting experience with a large firm highly desiredPrivate equity experience highly desiredPrevious provider-side healthcare experience highly desiredExperience with Microsoft Great Plains (ERP) and Concur highly desiredIntermediate / Expert Excel skills, and attention to detailStrong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal
Licenses / Certifications :
CPA preferred
