Position Summary :
COTA's Marketing Specialist performs professional work in the successful development and delivery of marketing programs for the Central Ohio Transit Authority.
This position leads the creation of compelling, impactful and multi-faceted marketing campaigns in support of organization initiatives.
Performs duties in alignment with the 2019 - 2024 COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision To Move Every Life Forward .
This Position is Responsible For :
- Translates COTA vision and business strategies into actionable marketing activities and deliverables;
- Drives development of strategic marketing programs to educate customers, engage community stakeholders, promote services and increase ridership;
- Develops and executes measurable marketing campaigns using a variety of channels (organic and paid) that include, but are not limited to, digital, social, web, print, and outdoor;
- Develops, implements and manages innovative marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and positive sentiment;
- Monitors brand and campaign performance through establishing KPIs, analyzing data, and generating reports to inform future strategies;
- Manages the work of external consultants responsible for marketing, graphic design, content creation, photography, videography and media buying;
- Maintains a pulse on customer trends and desired services and uses data to develop actionable marketing tactics designed to address customer needs;
- Ensures all marketing content is on-brand, with a consistent style, quality and tone of voice, and optimizes strategies to reach defined targeted audiences within the region; and,
- Develops and delivers effective marketing outputs that align with COTA brand standards in collaboration with designers and other team members.
- Interfaces with COTA agency of record and helps direct that agency's support of internal marketing and communications endeavors.
- Assists in the creation and execution of project plans and deliverables, and mapping them to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborates with other organization divisions to ensure the accuracy and quality of brand content and any external facing materials;
- Makes presentations to internal and external audiences on COTA marketing strategies;
- May be required to be available through a mobile device via voice and / or data during and outside of normal working hours, at the manager's discretion, and must respond within a reasonable timeframe;
- Performs other duties as assigned; and
- Regular, predictable and punctual attendance required.
At Minimum You'll Need :
Requires a Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communication or related field and at least six (6) years of experience in marketing.
An equivalent combination of education, experience, and / or training will also be considered.
Certification or professional development participation with American Marketing Association, Public Relations Society of America or similar organizations preferred but not required.
