About The Position

7 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM, 4 days a week (9-hour shifts)Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per weekExperience : Radiologic Technology experience in a procedural setting preferredLicense : IEMA Radiography LicenseCertifications : - BLS (American Heart Association)- ACLS (American Heart Association)- Radiography (R)(ARRT)Must-Have : - Capacity to learn and retain information about patient care and procedures- Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, and complete detailed work accurately- Demonstrates compassion and caring- Manual dexterity to handle small suppliesJob Description : - Administer contrast material as requested by a physician, recognizing and responding to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
- Assist the physician with procedures in the Heart & Vascular Institute and provide patient care.- Document accurately and completely.
- Accurately inform the procedural nurse of dosages of intra-procedural medications, radiation, and sponge / sharp counts.
- Perform on-call duties and work variable shifts as needed.- Perform various cardiac cath lab tasks, including left and right heart caths, pericardiocentesis, and vascular access.
- Assist with structural heart procedures, such as TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, and others.- Work on hybrid peripheral vascular tasks in coordination with Vascular Surgery.
- Utilize adjunctive tools like IVUS, FFR / iFR, Lithotripsy, Laser, Rota, Impella, IABP, OCT, and CTO.- Maintain a sterile field during procedures.
- Administer and withhold contrast and treatment as appropriate.- Assess patients for allergies.- Assist with inventory and procedure supply management.
- Provide instructions and support for new staff as necessary.
