Vice President - Regional Business Leader

Location : Englewood, CO Salary : $200k+ (DOE)

Brief Description

Reporting directly to the President / COO. The Regional Business Leader operates the day-to-day functions of the Denver office and Colorado region which includes the disciplines of Surveying and Mapping, Subsurface Utility Engineering, and Utility Coordination and directs, coordinates, and administers all aspects of organization operations through subordinates within the region.

The Regional Business Leader drives the vision of all aspects of the organization that the executive team has laid out both short term and long term.

The Regional Business Leader assists in the development of organization policies that encompass such areas as personnel, financial performance, and organization expansion.

This position will direct and coordinate a broad range of activities and functions to ensure effective operations and the achievement of organization objectives.

This position also develops strategic short and long-range plans to cover operations, human resources, financial performance, and growth.

Tasks

  • Manage and direct a region including various disciplines and groups.
  • Manage and direct staffing decisions, key hires, and other decisions to support the overall company vision and direction.
  • Responsible for business performance in region.
  • Help recruit new talent, retain top performers, and grow a strong, innovative operations teams for various disciplines within the region.
  • Work with the executive leadership team to create and execute a multi-year strategic plan ensuring a collaborative approach that considers all ideas and includes multiple stakeholders for the region.
  • Drive new strategic choices around marketing, partnerships, and other opportunities to scale the impact of the region and overall company.
  • Ability to motivate and lead large teams in-person and remotely while upholding an inclusive culture.
  • Manage and closely collaborate with the executive leadership team to deliver on all organizational goals in the region.
  • Select, train, motivate, evaluate, and mentor all organization personnel at various levels.
  • Develop performance metrics and goals and provide support to discipline managers to ensure positive results are achieved.
  • Analyze and prepare recommendations for budgets, and effectively allocate limited resources
  • Collaborate with various departments to deliver industry-specific capabilities in future offering roadmaps and drive vision into the market.
  • Manage and analyze all operational metrics and KPIs that guide decision making strategies for the region and disciplines.
  • Partner with executive leadership team to evolve organizational design.
  • Adapt as the company grows across segments and geographies as well as through growing customer demands
  • Work closely with discipline managers to define optimal performance measurements and programs required to ensure field organization success.
  • Oversee and drive streamlined and efficient processes within business units.

Requirements

Qualifications·

  • Strong industry leadership skills
  • Strong relationships with engineering firms and other partners within Colorado
  • 2+ years of executive experience in similar role (engineering and / or survey)
  • Professional Engineer and Professional Surveyor preferred
  • Strong AE contacts within Colorado to develop market penetration in service lines.
  • 10+ years in the AE industry in Colorado (engineering or other)
  • Collaborative team leader able to work well with executive teams.
  • Ability to attract and retain key employees in disciplines.
  • Ability to manage the financial performance of an office and region (with multiple disciplines).
  • Strong Business Development skills to develop long-term strategic partnership
  • Some travel is required for executive meetings and other company events
