Position Summary :

Red Rock Hospice is seeking an empathetic and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team on a per diem basis. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary care team to manage the comfort and symptom needs of hospice patients, helping them achieve the best quality of life possible.

This position offers flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful impact on patients and their loved ones during a critical time.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of hospice patients in home, inpatient, or facility settings.
  • Develop, adjust, and oversee patient care plans in coordination with physicians and the hospice team.
  • Provide expert pain and symptom management to ensure patient comfort.
  • Educate patients and their families on the progression of illnesses, care goals, and end-of-life options.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in line with patient care needs and hospice guidelines.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families to provide seamless care.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation in compliance with hospice care standards.

Qualifications :

  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Nevada
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (Family, Adult-Gerontology, or Palliative Care specialty preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospice, palliative care, or a related field.
  • In-depth understanding of symptom management, pain control, and end-of-life care principles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient and family care.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Reliable transportation for patient visits in the community (if applicable).
