Summary Description : The DSS Hybrid Clinic Clinician is responsible for providing clinical services to children and families involved in the child welfare system.
These clinical services will be conducted in the family’s home setting or DSS White Plains District Office. The program is designed to address and prevent child abuse and neglect in families at high risk.
Services will focus on addressing the referred individual’s mental health needs, improving functioning, and assisting the family in supporting the individual’s mental health needs.
Family and collateral sessions will focus on improving parenting skills, management of the household, and the well-being of the family.
Evidenced-based practices will be utilized to address the risk of abuse and neglect, prevent higher levels of care such as psychiatric hospitalizations and foster care placements, and expedite the reunification process.
Services are provided in the home and community and are delivered in a trauma-informed, culturally and linguistically competent manner.
The Clinician will support recovery by providing services that reflect our deeply held values that include the recognition of individual rights of self-determination, choice, shared decision-making, and collaboration.
When possible, he / she will utilize evidence-based practices; always embracing a trauma-informed and person-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provision of direct clinical services to approximately 14-18 individuals each month which may include, but are not limited to outreach, assessment and treatment planning, weekly family therapy, crisis counseling and intervention, and community consultation and education.
- Coordinate treatment with other community agencies and service providers and participate in meetings as needed.
- Participate in program development, training programs and / or meetings as designated by Program Coordinator and / or Director.
- Maintain up-to-date and complete case records, including documentation, and provide written reports and statistics as required.
- Complete the required number of client contacts per month.
- Follow the established agency policies and procedures and meet all guidelines set forth by the Department of Social Services contract.
- Provide 24-hour crisis intervention on-call services on a rotating basis.
- Due to the nature of the program, must have the ability to be flexible with working hours.
- Maintain appropriate professional standards.
- Other designated or related duties
Requirements :
- Must hold one of the following New York State licenses : LMSW, LMHC, Psychologist, or LCSW. Limited permit holders will be considered.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to work successfully with a wide range of people.
- Bilingual Spanish
- Must be able to work hours that facilitate meetings with families after school hours.
- Must be reliable and able to work independently and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
- Basic computer knowledge and the ability to document in an electronic health record is required.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and a driving record that is satisfactory to our insurance carrier.
- Must maintain current New York State Defensive Driving certification within 30 days of hire.
- Must maintain pre-employment clearances by applicable regulatory clearances as required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

- Salary Range : $55,000- $73,000, based on departmental budget, qualifications, experience, education, and licenses. This range represents the agency’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
