Job Summary :
We are seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist I to join our team. The Peer Recovery Support Specialist I will provide peer support services to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
They will offer guidance, encouragement, and advocacy to help clients achieve their recovery goals.
Salary Range
$25.50 - $28 / Hour DOE
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) or willingness to obtain certification
- Strong understanding of mental health and substance use disorders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and boundaries with clients
- Empathetic and nonjudgmental approach to supporting individuals in recovery
Responsibilities :
- Build trusting relationships with clients and provide peer support services in both group and individual settings
- Assist clients in developing and implementing recovery plans
- Advocate for clients within the healthcare system and community resources
- Facilitate support groups and educational programs
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records
- Participate in training and supervision to enhance peer support skills
Additional Requirements :
- Must pass a background check
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Knowledge of local resources for individuals in recovery
- Experience with documentation and record-keeping in a healthcare setting
