Senior Manager of Bookkeeping & Payroll

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Manager who will head our Bookkeeping and Payroll team and will be tasked with enhancing efficiency and productivity.

This position requires a seasoned, solutions-oriented professional with a strong background in bookkeeping and payroll operations, combined with exceptional leadership and managerial skills.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Leadership : Lead and inspire bookkeeping and payroll managers and multiple teams of bookkeeping and payroll professionals, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Operations Management : Oversee day-to-day operations, including the preparation of financial statements, payroll processing, and ad-hoc reports, ensuring adherence to GAAP and IRS standards.
  • Performance Management : Regularly monitor and assess team members' performance against established goals and KPIs, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate professional development initiatives to support team members' growth and career advancement.
  • Process Improvement : Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains, implementing scalable training programs and performance metrics to enhance team productivity.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate with other departments to streamline communication and optimize interdepartmental workflows, ensuring a seamless client experience.
  • Talent Acquisition : Participate in the hiring process, conduct interviews, and play a key role in talent acquisition efforts to expand and strengthen the team.
  • Reporting & Analysis : Generate detailed reports on departmental objectives and key results (OKRs), providing insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work with leadership to develop organizational goals.

Qualifications and Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Seven years of experience in bookkeeping and payroll operations, with a proven track record of successful leadership and management.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IRS regulations, and payroll processing best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and achieving operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks Online, Xero, Sage and other bookkeeping software.
  • Experience in a client-facing role and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Has used various business analytics tools to analyze, interpret and utilize data for making informed decisions.
  • Prior experience working with BPOs / offshore teams preferred

Compensation : $100,000 - 120,000 annual base salary
