Overview
As an Architectural Designer for Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc. (CEC), you'll be working on project teams that create architectural plans for the latest state-of-the-art facilities in a wide variety of markets such as industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, real estate, solid waste, power, and public sector.
You will work from detailed sketches and verbal or written direction to produce CAD drawings, cross-sections, details, figures, graphs, charts, overlays and simple isometric drawings.
You will also perform self-reviews of completed work to find and correct obvious errors before issuing the product for review by others.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with architech / architectural lead to design building and various buildings;
- Evaluate and resolve problems by reviewing multiple sources of information and coordinating design criteria with other disciplines;
- Develop floor plans, life safety plans, typical wall sections, building sections, and elevations;
- Provide quality oversight for architectural designs performed by others;
- When required, be the main point of contact for the architectural discipline when meeting with the project manager, other discipline leads, and the client; and
- Train and mentor less experienced designers.
Qualifications
- 4+ years' experience working on commercial and heavy industrial / manufacturing projects;
- Demonstrated proficiency (minimum of 1 year experience) working with Revit and AutoCAD;
- Ability to work in a team environment with engineers and senior designers;
- Proficient in using Microsoft Suite including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel;
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to perform field / site visits as needed; and
- Ability to travel (>
10%).
Preferred Qualifacations :
- Working knowledge of Navisworks and Bluebeam; and
- Possess an understanding of architectural codes and standards
