Position : Project Engineer / Drainage Engineer

Location : Austin, Round Rock, or Dallas, TX

We are seeking a team-oriented and technically skilled Drainage Engineer to join our Texas Road team. This role involves working directly with our Austin Road Group on highway and bridge projects across Texas. You will contribute to transportation designs, mentor staff, and work on drainage-related projects, especially with a strong background in H&H modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates, and oversee the creation of drainage / hydraulic reports and technical documentation.
  • Conduct cross-drainage hydraulic analysis and design.
  • Perform drainage analysis and design in accordance with project requirements and agency standards such as TxDOT.
  • Prepare and review FEMA CLOMR and LOMRs.
  • Create storm sewer, cross drainage, and floodplain models using tools like Open Roads Designer (ORD), ORD Drainage and Utilities (ORD DU), HY-8, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Registered PE in Texas.
  • At least 5 years of experience in drainage projects.
  • Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (steady, unsteady flow, and 2D), ORD DU, or similar software.
  • CFM certification preferred.
  • Floodplain mapping experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
