Position Summary
Whitehall District Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and competent educator who aspires to be an instructional leader and child advocate.
This individual will join a team of individuals dedicated to advancing the outcomes for students with disabilities and believes that all students have the ability to achieve.
This person is well-versed in core content expectations, developmental disabilities, and evidenced-based teaching strategies.
This individual can articulate a vision for student success and possesses a passion for preparing students for their secondary-level goals and beyond.
This individual can support the growth of life-skills that will promote the progress of students towards WDS’ district-wide goal of community-ready students upon graduation or certificate-completion of high school.
Essential Duties
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and families and work collaboratively to develop a plan for the best interest of students
- Collect data from multiple sources to drive instructional strategies and write goals for students
- Have a strong vision for success and share that vision with colleagues
- Use innovative technology to promote student learning
- Partner with general education teachers and implement effective inclusion strategies that are in the best interest of all students
- Work directly with building leaders to create an optimal learning environment
- Complete compliant, timely, organized, and collaborative Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Communicate student progress and promote student success within the school community
Education and Experience
- Valid Michigan teaching certification
- Special Education Endorsement

- Teacher Contract
- Full time
