Job Requirements
- Requested Skill Set : PCU Experience
- Must have : PCU / ICU Experience
- Advanced skills needed : ACLS, ability to take care of tracheostomy / vents, as well as high acuity patient population
- Procedures performed on unit : Chest Tube Insertion, Thoracentesis, Lumbar Puncture
Schedule Information
Three shifts per week with 4 weekend shifts per month. (Saturday / Sunday are considered weekend for Day Shift; Friday / Saturday / Sunday are considered weekends for Night Shift)
Unit Specific Information
- Patient Ratios : 1 to 3-4; stretched ratio of 1 : 5 (mix of med-surg and PCU)
- Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Daily availability of a Unit Secretary and consistently between 2-4 Patient Care Technicians each shift.
Phlebotomy and Respiratory Therapy available for all shifts.
- Floating policy : When floating is required, Travelers will float first, PRN staff second, and Full Time Core Staff last
